The North Face actually calls the Rucky Chucky GTX XCR a Mountain Running Shoe. We dont have a category for that, so we put it in with the Trail Running Shoes and told it to play nice. Designed to meet the needs of the expanding off-road endurance racing crowd, the Rucky Chucky is built like a tank with the heart of a Ferrari. A forefoot Snake Plate, toe cap, and X-2 polymer in the midsole provide protection from sharp rocks and roots, and full-circumference abrasion panels brush off rough treatment like a brick wall. Meanwhile, medial posting maintains stability at high speed on uneven surfaces. Rain and puddles are no match for the Gore-Tex XCR insert, but the Rucky Chucky also uses a wide mesh upper fabric that drains and dries quickly after stream crossing immersions. Tenacious Grip rubber on the outsole keeps you moving forward when everyone around you is losing their edge.
